How 2 Have a Happy Ending is een drag theatershow over angst voor intimiteit waarin dragkunstenaar Indie Nile zijn levensverhaal als sekswerker vertelt door een tragikomedieversie te spelen van de iconische film Pretty Woman. Je zult lachen, je zult huilen, je zult de kwetsbaarheid proeven en het theater verlaten, klaar om de liefde van je leven te vinden.

How 2 Have a Happy Ending is a drag theater show about fear of intimacy in which drag artist Indie Nile tells his life story as a sexworker by playing a tragicomedy version of the iconic film Pretty Woman. You will laugh, you will cry, you will taste vulnerability and leave the theater ready to find the love of your life.

De bekroonde theatermaker en populaire YouTuber Indie Nile is de eerste (en enige) ‘dragtherapeut’. Hij combineert de kunstvorm van de drag- en popcultuur met zoveel kwetsbaarheid en echte zelfhulpmiddelen. Indie werd in Italië geboren als zoon van een Palestijnse vader, groeide op in Dubai en volgde vervolgens een opleiding tot filmmaker in New York, voordat hij zich in Amsterdam vestigde en een carrière begon als drag-performancekunstenaar.
 
Vóór drag was Indie een veelgeprezen documentairemaker die taboe-onderwerpen aanpakte in keiharde verhalen. Na drag is het keiharde spul er nog steeds, alleen nu verpakt in een mooie pruik, een pakkende lipsync en wat stand-upcomedy. Als je bij een Indie Nile-show bent, begin je je verlatingswonden te helen, maar je zou het niet weten omdat je het te druk hebt met jammen op je favoriete popsongs.

Award-winning theater maker and popular YouTuber Indie Nile is the first (and only) “drag therapist”. He blends the art form of drag & pop culture with so much vulnerability and genuine self-help tools. Indie was born in Italy to a Palestinian father, raised in Dubai and then trained as a filmmaker in New York before settling down in Amsterdam and starting a career as a drag performance artist. Before drag, Indie was an acclaimed documentary filmmaker tackling taboo subjects in a hard-hitting stories. After drag, the hard-hitting stuff is still there, only now it's wrapped in a pretty wig, catchy lipsync and some stand-up comedy.
