Double Bill of Circus

De motor van de bloeiende Nederlandse circusscene is het jonge talent dat jaarlijks aan de circushogescholen afstudeert. Double Bill of Circus presenteert in twee try-outs van korte acts aanstormend circustalent van Codarts Circus Arts. De Britse Natasha Chauhan, bekend als Tash, vindt haar plezier in springen, flippen, draaien en dat kriebelende gevoel dat je in je buik krijgt als je op het podium staat. In deze act gaat ze totaal op in een sterk staaltje vloeracrobatiek. En de Amerikaanse artieste Melody Nolan ontwikkelde een uiterst creatieve techniek waarbij ze handstanden speels combineert met acrobatiek. Voor haar afstudeeract ontving Melody de BNG Bank Circusprijs 2021.

The engine of the flourishing Dutch circus scene is the young talent that annually graduates from the circus schools. Double bill of circus presents in two try-outs of short acts up-and-coming circus talent from the bachelor of Codarts Circus Arts. The British Natasha Chauhan, known as Tash, finds her pleasure in jumping, flipping, spinning and that tickling feeling you get in your stomach when you are on stage. In this act, she is totally absorbed in a strong piece of floor acrobatics. And the American artist Melody Nolan has developed a highly creative technique in which she playfully combines handstands with acrobatics. For her graduation act, Melody received the BNG Bank Circus Prize 2021.

TIP: Afterwards, at 20:00 h, there is festive opening in which Benjamin Monki Kuitenbrouwer, hous maker of TENT, gives his vision of the circus in the Netherlands.
